So, here in this article about how to reset windows XP password, i will inform about use of Lophtcrack LC5  to reset windows XP password. So, just download LC5 follow the steps and reset windows XP administrator password.

Reset windows XP, NT administrator password:

1. Download Lophtcrack LC5 to reset windows XP password.

2. Now, unzip this software to reset windows password and install this LC5 by double clicking on Lophtcrack.exe file.

3. This will install LC5 on your computer. Now, run Lophtcrack LC5 and in startup wizard , hit “Next”.

4. On next screen, select “Retrieve from Local Machine” and hit “Next”.

5. On Choose Auditing Method wizard, select “Strong Password Audit” and hit Next.

6. On next Pick Reporting style wizard, check all available options and hit Next.

7. On next screen check “Save these settings as sessions defaults” and hit Finish.

8. Now, as soon as you’ll hit Finish, Lophtcrack will display all available user accounts and start cracking all passwords on local machine using Dictionary and then Bruteforce attack and display all user account passwords on local computer.

So, you can retrieve and reset your lost windows password present on local machine. Remember, the disadvantage of this software is that you must have administrative access to computer to use this software to reset windows XP password.
